About OSG
I'm Mike Frary. I run the finance office for a heavy civil contractor.
Payroll and certified payroll every week. The billing packets that get them paid — pay applications, lien waivers, the approvals that go with them. Five accounts reconciled every month. WIP schedules for their bonding company. The cash flow forecast behind what gets paid on Friday.
I also write the software I use to do it. When something took too long, I built a tool for it — reconciliation that matches transfers across accounts automatically, payables that route themselves, estimates that load into the accounting system without being retyped.
I started OSG to do this work for other businesses. Most of it happens remotely. For local clients I'm on site when it makes sense.
I'm in Ogdensburg, on the St. Lawrence.
The work I actually do
The short version
IRS PTIN
Registered with the IRS as a paid tax return preparer.
QuickBooks
Years of hands-on work — setup, cleanup, job costing, and the ongoing problems that come up in a real file.

OSG is a young practice. The work behind it isn't — it's a full contractor finance office, run every week.
Why "OSG"
The legal name is Oswegatchie Shoreline Group, after the river that runs through town. Nobody outside St. Lawrence County can spell it, so we go by OSG.
